On July 2nd 1776 The Continental Congress (“The Congress”) voted to
declare independence from Great Britain. They then spent two days
debating and revising The Declaration of Independence (“The
Declaration”) . On July 4th 1776, 249 years ago today, The Congress
adopted the final wording of “The Declaration”. Today is the date we all
know and celebrate, however, the final engrossed (official) copy was not
actually signed by the delegates until almost a month later, on August
2nd 1776.

In the spirit of remembering our nation’s founding and original
fight for liberty and justice, Mayday Movement USA invites
visual artists to submit 2D artwork. Themes should be related to
the Declaration of Independence document, to declaring
independence, or to having elected,representative
government.

DEADLINE:
August 2, 2025, 11:59p.m. EDT

Artwork submitted must be suitable and may be used for printing in 4×6 ratios as either landscape or portrait to
potentially be used for postcards, banners, posters, signs,
social media, and/or the website. Digital art is acceptable but
should be the artist’s original creation. No AI generated art or
AI assisted art will be accepted.

Acknowledgement will include artist’s
preferred identification and all social media handles provided
below.

Required application materials includes:

– each submitted work in a separate file

– each file named using the format:
titleofartpiece.maydaymovement.MOI.date
– email must include the artist’s preferred identification
information name OR pseudonym, pronous, and any social
media handles they want acknowledged

About Mayday Protest Poster & Sticker Competition

We are calling on artists, designers, and activists to create impactful posters and stickers for an upcoming protest and awareness campaign demanding the impeachment and conviction of President Donald J. Trump. Winning designs will be used in physical protest materials and across social media platforms to amplify our message. This is an unpaid opportunity; however, full credit will be given to the creators whose work is selected.

Your art will be seen on the frontlines of the movement and across digital platforms as part of a historic call for accountability.

The Protest & Initiative

With multiple Supreme Court rulings affirming that impeachment is the only true check on presidential power, we believe it must be exercised whenever necessary. Our initiative seeks to pressure Congress to act by mobilizing activists and establishing Mayday Protest Camp near the U.S. Capitol starting on May 1st.
